A very simple lovely lullabye, or just a love-song..
As the song didn't fit into the concept of "only the lonely", it was dropped from the original release of the vinyl album in 1958.
But since it's simply a nice song, and it was recorded at the same sessions, it was included again when the CD was re-released.

Allthough the entire Sinatra-album "Only the Lonely" was arranged and recorded by Nelson Riddle, he was strong enough to include a song from one of his strongest "Rivals" - Gordon Jenkins.
Jenkins later arranged quite a few of Sinatras Records himself.

In the year 2000, a canadian pianist and singer, somehow made the impossible true,
and got the infamous Claus Ogerman to orchestrate her Album "the look of love".
This is absolutely one of the finest songs of that record!

This classy tune, written by Ann Ronell, is something very special... It has some wonderful lyrics, and - of course - Riddle found a great undertone of a Negro-Spiritual / Blues.

Don Costa penned this and 9 further incredible arrangements for Frank Sinatra’s record “Sinatra & Strings” that was Sinatras first release on his new, own record-company reprise records.

Here one can clearly hear Costa’s remarkable talent of making difficult sound easy.  He often produced “greasy” and silly music for the masses - but you could almost always hear that someone was ridiculously well in control of the arranging, if you put your ears to it. One could make a very simple version of this arrangement, if one would take away all the “extras”. That would be something that most amateurs could play as well.  But - this is the hard version...
