In 1932 Paul Hindemith composed the music for a “musik-fest” in Plön

- a small town in northern Germany.

The idea was that all the citizens should be able to play along somehow.

He made four main Sections, where of the first (A): is Morgenmusik.

(Other sections are: B: Tafelmusik, C: Kantate & D: Abendkonzert).

The Brass-players where supposed to perform this piece from a tower.

The original instrumentation is for "trumpets and trombones and tuba ad.lib.”

There are 3 movements in this piece:

1. Mäßig bewegt (moderately moving)

2. Lied (Hymn)

3. Bewegt (Brisk)
