In 1958 Mel Tormé recorded some songs with Orchestra, that still today are sheer magic. Nothing extraordinary, just plain singing. That was mostly the problem with the magnificent singer Tormé;  he had so much in the trunk - he couldn't stop it from coming out.  On this recording, someone must have told him to "behave", because this is very clean and tidy.  Marty Paich's arrangement is nothing short than stunning. Very sparse but extremely effective. Really brilliant.

Reconstructed in smallest detail.
