David’s Op.11 returns to the earlier Variation-Works, what gives the assumption that he

either had fun writing and performing those, or they were wanted by the audience.

The musical construct remains the same;

- A theme with following variations, each more brilliant than the previous.

David was a brilliant violin-player, and most probably wrote these pieces for himself;

was it for fun or as a practice…

 He dedicated this work to his friend Hubert Ries.

Here in a new revised edition.
